Random Encounters by Kathleen Walker
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Ronni Walters lives for the thrill of random encounters. The thought of kissing a man and having him when no one else expects it drives her excitement to heights she’s never dreamed of. The men she chooses incite her desires and leave her sated every time she walks away, never to see them again.
Yet everything changes when one random encounter turns out to be not so random after all. Ronni never thought that she’d see Steve Nelson again after their casual encounter. Granted, she hadn’t know his name then, but now that she does, she finds herself drawn to the man in more ways than one. Setting aside her insecurities, she knows that he’s her only chance in being able to redeem her client, Jessica Ward, before the jury’s eyes.
As the case becomes more high profile, she finds herself unable to fight the feelings she’s begun to feel for Steve. He stirs her passion and hunger and leaves her wanting more. The fact that he treats her with such respect seals the deal even further.
Unable to deny what she feels for him, she gives in and dives head in to the delicate relationship that’s building between him. She knows quite clearly that there’s no going back. Not that she wants to, mind you. For she’s finally found what she’s always been looking for – a man who loves her just as much and is intent on showing her in every way possible. A man she knows she will never let go.
This was such and endearing and heart-felt story. I enjoyed it very much. The pictures that Kathleen painted of Ronni’s world and of what she felt as she went through everything she did were quite vivid. The insecurities, the love, the excitement of a random encounter – I think it’s something that we can all relate to. I definitely recommend this story. It’s that good a read!

Synopsis: Ronni relished the eroticism and high of anticipation when she zeroed in on the intended random encounter. A sly glance. A wink. Sometimes simply his attire, his walk, or maybe even the location is all it took to excite and ignite desire. Desire for just one encounter, one time, with one man. Never seen before, or again. Achieving her objective of getting the unwitting stranger to willingly participate amplified the yearning. No spoken words between them and the lovely, lusty experience would be complete. Working earnestly to succeed in criminal law despite her family’s objections, a most unexpected case comes along bringing both events and people into Ronni’s life that changes everything. A wealthy widow with all the rag-mag hoopla of a celebrity who is fighting for her late husband’s estate, and a doctor who was once a hidden encounter that Ronni needed testimony from to win her case. Relating to a former encounter in the work environment was awkward, yet enlightening sending Ronni on a journey of self-discovery.
