The Unscheduled Stops By Sinead MacDughlas New Release + Giveaway
Good Morning, Everyone.
Thanks for stopping by. I’d like to introduce you all to the lovely Sinead MacDughlas, a brilliant author and a great friend. I had the honor of meeting her via the Pen To Paper writing group run by the incredible Dominique Weldon and am quite blessed to call her a friend. She’s a beautiful soul and I can’t gush enough about her writing. It’s that good!
Anywho, today is the release of her debut anthology, The Unscheduled Stops, full of poetry and short stories that she’d like to share with you and the world outside. I had the luxury of beta-reading her book nd have to say that it’s quite stirring and thought-provoking. I enjoyed it very much and I know you will, too! You can read my review of the book HERE.
The lovely cover that you see on the left was created for Sinead by the wonderful and quite talented, David J. Ford. You can view the full wraparound cover for compilation HERE. David’s photography and art is phenomenal and I enjoy seeing the new creations that he comes up with almost every day. Feel free to swing by his Facebook page and take a look at his creations. You’ll be sure to like them, too. I know I do!

Now – for the giveaway . . .
Sinead and David have teamed up together and are offering a lucky winner an 11″ x 17″ print of the cover art for The Unscheduled Stops. The print is personally signed by the author and the artist themselves. The winner will chosen randomly on the 3rd of December and will be shipped to the winner. There’s no guarantee that it’ll arrive by Christmas, but we know you won’t mind. It’ll be sent in the mail as soon as the winner is chosen. Totally awesome, right?
To enter the contest, all you have to do is to write a really short flash fiction based on the above cover art in 250 words or less and leave it as a comment on this post. I will then have Sinead and David pick which one they like best. So pick up those pens and jot down your thoughts. We’d love to see the flash fiction people can come up with for this contest.
Good luck to all those entering and thank you for participating.
Many thank you’s for Sinead and David for allowing me to be a part of this event. Most of all, thank you to all of you for being a part of it all. We hope you truly enjoy the event as much as we do.

A train whistle. She stirs, the tatters of a threadbare dream dissipating with consciousness. The morning is calm, clear. But her eyes… her eyes tell the story of the storm she’s been through.
A train whistle. She picks up her bags, gets off the bench. Time to get started with life.
Oooo . . . I like that!
Lovely entry for the contest, Adriana. GL!
With eyes looking behind me, looking beyond…
The turmoil of my thoughts
The noise in my mind
The pain of yesterday
The sorrows of today
With eyes looking beside me…
Through mist that fog memories
Through pain that shrouds
Through time long past
Through clouds of emotions
With eyes looking down…
I sit alone
Loneliness surrounds me
Feeling my heart ache
I stand alone
With eyes looking up…
Blinking back the tears
Feeling the sun’s embrace
Warming the embers
Igniting my soul
With eyes on the horizon, looking beyond…
I like it. Sombre, yet also quite intense!
Thanks…I haven’t written anything more exciting than a grocery list in 20 years…the imagery moved me
Welcome. It came out pretty good. Kudos on the spur of the moment writing. 🙂
That dream inflicted itself on me again last night: A biplane rises silently, stealthily into the mist while a winged creature touches down onto an lake enrobed in a stillness not of this Earth. Eyes that captivated me once upon a better time lure me down the railroad tracks I walked as a child. There is the chair that always awaited me at the rickety table in my aunt’s kitchen during my favorite summers away from home. Are the books nearby chapters penned already, or are they for those I have yet to write in the days that remain for me?
Lovely imagery. Very thought-provoking. Makes me want to delve deeper into the story’s meaning. 😉
GL!
