The Little Things In Life
We all have moments in life when we look for a higher power. When all we want is to have everything fall into place at the right moment. Sadly, life doesn’t work that way. As the saying goes, everything happens for a reason.
People come into our lives, and sometimes leave when it’s necessary for them to do so. They don’t always leave in good spirits, either, but that’s the way the ball rolls. Others remain in our lives as testaments to the friendships we’ve forged. It’s wonderful when that happens, in all honesty.
I found myself mulling this fact today. I’m marveled by the fact that I’ve met so many wonderful people throughout my thirty-eight years. Some have stayed, while others have gone out like a light. Some of those that have left my life returned years later, though, and we’ve been tight ever since.
It’s wonderful when you can truly call someone a friend. When you can divulge a secret or two, and know that the person you’re talking to will never tell someone else about it. When you spend time with someone and just enjoy their company. When you’re surrounded by so many people you love and hold dear.
I’m blessed to have so many people in my life. Blessed to be able to have a loving family. Blessed by the doors the Lord has opened for me along the way. Blessed by the paths I’ve taken that have branched out into something greater.
Never take the little things in life for granted. You never know where those unexpected paths may lead. Never take the people that surround you for less than what they’ve been to you. You never know when they might not be there anymore, and you’ll end up missing out on a lot of things.
Most of all, never lose faith in yourself and the Lord. Sometimes, things might seem like they’re not working out, but God has a plan for all of us. Those little things in life that sometimes don’t make much sense are God’s way of telling us that something greater is coming along the way.
So hold your head up high. Thank the Lord for all you have. And know that life will come together in the most unexpected of ways for you. There’s always something better around the corner!
