TKE-CharmainePaulsFrom the moment Drako’s pod crashed to Earth, he knew his life would never be the same. The humans are merciless, intent on discovering everything about his unique and unknown existence. Despite the fact that he suffers at their hands, he’s determined to survive by any means necessary. His silver lining comes in the form of the beautiful and naive Ilse Gouws. A nurse by trade, she’s done everything to uphold her good values in the hopes of caring for all those she comes across, a fact he comes to accept the more he comes in contact with her. Though their fates are uncertain, neither of them can deny the hunger that roils between them every passing second.

I came into the world of Krinar via Charmaine’s wonderful story. I must say I’m hooked. Charmaine has created such complex characters within a world originally created by Anna Zaires. Expanding on that universe, she’s given us a glimpse of what the Krinar’s coexistence with humans would be like. The Krinar’s continued existence is uncertain, so they’re forced to find a better means in which to survive.

Drako’s unexpected landing puts him in the center of the SS’s sordid plans. Though injured, he refuses to give up on his need to survive. Ilse’s arrival into his life compounds his urge to do whatever is necessary to make sure he makes it back home. All the while, he fights with the desire to make her his. While this is the first time he’s come across a human, he can’t deny that their customs intrigue him. More so when it comes to Ilse.

A titillating romance, we get to see Drako assert himself within such chaos. We’re also given more details in regards to the Krinar and their Elder council. From start to finish, you find yourself rooting for Drako and Ilse despite the fact that things started off so rocky for them. I’ve truly enjoyed this story and can’t wait to dive further into more of the stories that surround the world Anna and every author that’s a part of this Kindle World have written. Thanks for such a great read!

A Krinar Kindle World Story

When Drako’s space pod malfunctions over Johannesburg, his secret reconnaissance mission goes horribly wrong. Wounded in the crash, he’s captured by the South African Secret Service who sees an opportunity to strengthen their army and make a fortune by using the alien pilot in an unorthodox experiment. They send a female to tend to his injuries, a human girl with the pretty name of Ilse who’s sweet and caring. The perfume of her skin is like a drug, her blood an aphrodisiac. He can still smell her and taste her on his tongue. Her betrayal cuts deeper than the testing and torture. No matter. His escape is pending. When he comes back to Earth, it will be to find her, and when he does, he’ll show as little mercy as she did.

Nurse Ilse Gouws knows from the minute the SS brings her to their secure compound to treat a prisoner’s injuries that the man chained in the deepest and darkest of basements is not human. Neither is he the criminal they claim him to be. Under his stoic veneer are kindness and sensitivity. If she doesn’t help him, he’s going to die. To win time, she partakes in the agency’s wicked experiment, betraying not only her government, but also the man who calls himself a Krinar. The choices she makes turn her into a hunted woman, chased by a shady government and a vengeful extraterrestrial. Only one thing is sure in her uncertain future. Neither will stop until she’s dead.

These are the events that led to the Krinar Earth Invasion. This is the untold story.
