Bewitching Banner

PATMS Button Penelope Amour has always been a tad precocious and inquisitive. She has a zest for wanting to know about anything and everything that comes her way. More often than not, this tends to get her into trouble. Her time at Tiffin Prep. hasn’t always been easy, yet she’s determined to make the the most of her time there.

Returning to the school once her vacation is over, things start off on the wrong foot. Her suitcase breaks and there’s a new girl on the scene. Despite the changes, Penelope does her best to not let the disappointments get to her.

When Marvel Movies decides to use the school as part of a movie shoot, Penelope sees it as an opportunity to meet best friend, Sandy’s, famous aunt. This, unfortunately, is easier said than done. All eyes soon turn to her when she inadvertently witnesses an accident on the movie set. Penelope claims she never saw what happened, but the police are convinced that she’s the key in deciphering just what happened that day.

PATMS BCPenelope soon finds herself in the middle of a prank war as friendships and loyalties are torn apart because of the presence of the new girl in the class. As more and more attempts on her life are made, it soon becomes apparent that someone is definitely out for her blood. Whoever it is thinks she knows more than she’s actually saying and will do anything to make sure she’s silenced forever.

This was quite a delightful book. I enjoyed it very much. It’s definitely a refreshing teen thriller series and I look forward to reading more of the series soon. I did come across quite a few grammatical/punctuation errors throughout the story, but other than that, the book is a good read.

Synopsis:

Marvel Movies comes to Tiffin Preparatory School to shoot a motion picture against the backdrop of the old Windorf Hotel that now houses the school. Penelope sneaks onto the set and watches them film a scene. Famous actors Priscilla Young and Clarence Dodd star in the movie and Penelope gets to see them up close. Regrettably, she also sees a spotlight fall on the director and kill him. Penelope claims she had her eyes shut when it happened, but the police think she may remember something. Unfortunately for her, the killer also thinks she may recall something.

To complicate matters, the school has a new cook, and Penelope’s friend Raddy thinks Chef Judy is trying to poison them. The new girl at school steals away everyone’s friends. As always Principal Merriweather keeps finding new ways to expel her. Between trying to get her friends back, starving and keeping away from the killer, she has her hands full in this next Penelope Mystery.
