NRTS Button After having an intriguing summer, Nate Rocks is looking forward to the fifth grade. There’s plenty to do, including a Halloween dance, and a trip to New York. Homework, this year, is more than the norm, but he’s willing to compensate for that ensuring that the trip to New York falls through at all costs. Unfortunately, that’s easier said than done.

Nate’s largest thorn in his side is his older sister, Abby. She’s growing up to be just a little too cranky. In her eyes, Nate is someone she can do without. Unbeknownst to her, he shares the same sentiments about her. Sadly, they’re in their family for life, so they’ll have to get along somehow.

NRTS BCWord reaches Nate’s ears that the trip to New York requires the fifth grade to raise enough money for the endeavor. This is music to his ears. He has plenty of ideas as to how the class can raise the money. Unfortunately, his ideas must be sanctioned by the school in order for it to count toward the trip itself. Never-the-less, he’s determined to do everything possible in order to make things happen.

This was another great addition to the Nate Rocks series. I enjoyed it immensely. Karen injects such vivid imagery into her stories that the reader finds him/herself immersed in each and every one of them from the get-go. It was delightful to see the shenanigans Nate gets into in order to save the day. The best part is that he always comes out on top! So can’t wait to see what comes next for Nate Rocks!

Synopsis:

Nate Rocks Is At It Again . . .

According to Nathan Rockledge, fifth grade has plenty of perks. Oh sure, there’s more work and that know-it-all, Lisa Crane, is still around – but, there’s a lot to look forward to as well: a laser tag birthday party, baseball at recess, and even a cool Halloween dance. Of course, all of that means nothing without the biggest perk of all . . . the class trip to New York City in the spring. If Nathan’s class can raise enough money to go, that is.

Give Nathan paper and a pencil and watch as his imagination turns him into Nate Rocks, hero and fifth grade super star. With adventures abound, Nate saves the day time and again. But will Nate be able to save the fifth grade trip?

Join Nathan, his hilarious family, and his friends, as he rocks the school in another fun Nate Rocks adventure.
