Determined in asserting herself despite the surrounding chaos, Scarlett soon realizes that nothing is as it seems. She and Corinne have crossed into an unexpected plane. Part 2 of Daughter of Strife dives straight in to Scarlett and Corinne’s current predicament. Their bodies are dealing with the effects of an extreme poison. Yet neither can deny that they’re intrigued by the technology that now surrounds them.
These two women have bonded from the moment they met. I like the fact that the authors continue to strengthen those bonds. Mind you, Scarlett made a choice that’s changed Corinne’s life forever. A choice that was forced upon her. Nevertheless, she’s willing to do whatever is necessary to make sure her best friend stays alive no matter the cost.
I do wonder what the next part of this serial series will bring to the table. Will the two of them make it back to their camp on time? Or will the poison end their lives before they’ve truly begun living? We’ll know soon enough, I’m sure.
