#Review: Catch Me Twice – Charmaine Pauls
From the moment she laid eyes on Jake, Kristi knew he was the one. She’s harbored a crush on him since the first grade, something she often refuses to admit. Determined to make the most of it, she throws all of her love upon her son, never once imagining that her husband would return in the blink of an eye. From the moment I began reading this book, I was hooked. Charmaine has a knack of pulling the reader in with every word she writes, making us want to turn the next page. She’s penned a story that many can relate to. She presents us with characters so flawed that you can’t help feel for them. These are characters who are dealing with the consequences of their actions. Consequences that include not only them, but those they love and care for.
A tumultuous read, Catch Me Twice is a story about redemption despite the chaos that ensues. A story where happiness is possible, but only if you’re willing to work together in ironing flat the creases that exist. If you haven’t read any of Charmaine’s book, I definitely recommend you start with this one. Mind you, this book might not be for everyone, but it’s one worth being given a chance and read from beginning to end.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Charmaine Pauls was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa. She obtained a degree in Communication at the University of Potchestroom, and followed a diverse career path in journalism, public relations, advertising, communications, photography, graphic design, and brand marketing. Her writing has always been an integral part of her professions.
After relocating to Chile with her French husband, she fulfilled her passion to write creatively full-time. Charmaine has published nine novels since 2011, as well as several short stories and articles.
Two of her shorts have been selected by the International Literary Society for an anthology from across the African continent. When she is not writing, she likes to travel, read, and rescue cats. Charmaine currently lives in France with her husband and children. Their household is a linguistic mélange of Afrikaans, English, French, and Spanish.
