Random Muse This Morning
Had a random muse catch me this morning. Thought I’d share this little tidbit with you.
I don’t have a working title for this yet. I think it’s a short story in the making. Or a novelette/novella, maybe?
Keep in mind that this is still in its raw state.
Hope you all like it, none-the-less.
Enjoy!

I awoke to darkness. My body ached in places I didn’t know existed. Moaning with pain, I rolled onto my side, and reached toward the night stand. My hand fumbled in mid-air, grasping at nothingness. The table wasn’t there.
I shot up into a sitting position, allowing my eyes to adjust to the inky blackness surrounding me. It took me a moment to realize that I was no longer in my bedroom. Ellis was gone, as was my beloved Corgi, Minion.
Where the hell am I? I wondered. What is this place?
Tossing the thin blanket aside, I rolled out of bed, and swung my legs to the side. A shiver coursed through me as my feet slapped against the cold stone floor. This was definitely not the floor of my bedroom.
“Hello?” I cried, my heart racing with apprehension. “Is anybody out there?”
No one answered. An oppressive silence descended upon me.
I moved forward, trying to deduce as to where the room’s exit was. My arms shot out in front of me as I moved blindly through the darkness. Trepidation grew with every step.
A sharp cry was rent from me as my palms slapped forcefully against the wall. I carefully felt my way along, praying fervently that I’d find the necessary answers to the questions now tumbling through my head.
