Cora’s life was going just the way she wanted it to be. She had a wonderful fiancé and was looking forward to marrying him soon. Her best friend, while wacky at times, kept her in line, even if they got into mischief, every now and then. She had everything she could ever ask for, loving the little niché she’d carved out for herself. Yet never once did she imagine losing it all within the blink of an eye.
Plagued by dreams she can’t explain, Cora dismisses them as if they’re nothing to worry about. Yet when they become reality, she realizes there’s something more sinister afoot. She can now dissolve into a million particles and appear in unexpected places, something she’s never done before. How she got the ability to do so is beyond her, yet she knows she needs to find the answers to her questions. Her only ally is her best friend, Nessa.
Fearing that she could be implicated in Tom’s murder, she escapes and winds up in Nessa’s home, naked and bereft. While the two can’t exactly explain what’s going on, they know they need to find the person responsible for the whole fiasco. They set off to do just that, setting off an unexpected chain reaction of events. Yet never once did they expect to find more than what they were looking for.
This was a very intriguing book. The action takes off from the beginning and the reader is catapulted into a world where the characters unexpectedly find themselves with paranormal powers. It sort of reminded me of X-Men. There were certain parts of the story that did leave me a little confused as I thought certain parts of it could be further explained, here and there. There were also some minor editing issues. Despite that, the story is a good read. It’s a different take on all things paranormal.
