The Kiss Off by Sarah Billington

Ever since she can remember, Poppy Douglas has had a penchant for writing songs on any topic she could think of. It’s her favorite pastime and she enjoys it immensely. The topics she chooses to sing about are anything but normal. Writing music is one of her simple pleasures that she likes to share with outside world via her YouTube channel.
A woman scorned, Poppy soon pens a song about her ex-boyfriend and her now ex-best friend. Yet never once did she imagine gaining recognition for a song she created in order to nurse a broken heart. Determined to not let things with Cameron get to her, she pretends that everything is fine and dandy. Unfortunately, Cameron and Nikki are hard to ignore. Penelope Amour has always been a tad precocious and inquisitive. She has a zest for wanting to know about anything and everything that comes her way. More often than not, this tends to get her into trouble. Her time at Tiffin Prep. hasn’t always been easy, yet she’s determined to make the the most of her time there.

The existence of unexplained powers has caused her to live a solitary existence, something she much prefers, since it allows her to live in anonymity. Keeping away from others is the only way she can ensure no one else gets hurt when bursts of her powers surface unexpectedly. Yet, at times, she yearns to have someone she can depend on. To have that one friend who would be understanding about who and what she is.
An unexpected attack on her one night draws her attention to the unexplained burnings occurring all over Europe. Woman are are being burned alive on supposed accounts of their being witches. The reasons behind such things elude Stella, yet she can’t deny the fact that she has always been different. Flesh and Feathers by April Fifer

For the past ten years, Azaleigh Carlton has been living her life as each day comes. The simplicity with which she’s lived has worked well for her, yet there are times she’s found herself dwelling upon the past. Most especially upon the death of her mother. She’s made do with what she has and is content to continue living her life in the same manner she is now.

There’s something about Kale she finds intriguing, making her want to know him just a little better. She soon finds herself spending more time with him, enjoying every moment they have together.
