I’m not officially signed up to participate in Six Sentence Sunday today, but I’d like to post up six sentences for you to preview anyway. I promise that I’ll be officially signed up for next week, though. For a full FAQ as to what this is, you can find it HERE.

While I’ve never taken part before, it’s something that has peaked my interest for quite awhile. So today I’m taking a chance with it and seeing how it goes.

Below you’ll find the first 6 sentences of a work-in-progress. It has no name, as of yet, but I plan to keep sharing 6 more sentences of this story with you all every Sunday as I go along. Hopefully, by the time, it’s said and done, the book will be completed and ready for release.

The sun’s rays filtered across my eyes, jarring me from the deepest reaches of my sleep. I mumbled incoherently as I felt a slight tug upon my right earlobe. Swatting at whatever was trying to gain my attention, I rolled onto my side and cuddled close against my pillow and soon became aware of the fact that it was hard and quite lumpy. A low grunt alerted me to someone’s presence as I bolted into a sitting position. My breath came in short gasps as I tried to comprehend what I was seeing.

It can’t be, I thought as I took in the sight that slowly began to spread out before me.
