Review: Vampire Elite – Irina Argo
Imparted with an unexpected legacy, Arianna has done her best to come to terms with the consequences of her late mother’s actions. She is now the queen of the Amiti, an immortal race that is said to be the equal counterpart of the Sekhmi. Legend has it that Amiti and Sekhmi are supposed to be a soul mate, of sorts, but years of strife has pulled each race in different directions. Something the goddess, Hathor, never anticipated.
Determined to set all wrongs to right, Arianna vows to save her dying race. She never expected to have to choose between the Amiti and the Sekhmi, and always assumed that she’d be able to unite the two races in the long run. Unfortunately, that might be something that may never come to fruition.
The vampire’s are intent on gaining the upper hand in the war that exists between them and the Amiti. They refuse to cater to the Amiti’s demands, and wish to live their lives as they see fit. In their eyes, the Amiti are the perfect source of sustenance, and they’ll do everything possible to enslave them, once and for all.
As Arianna comes into her own, opposition comes at her from every side. Each faction wants to obtain her for an end to their own means in the hopes of becoming a victor in the ongoing war. Deep inside, she knows she needs to come up with a viable solution to unite the two races. They complement each other, after all.
To do so, she’ll need to unite with the enemy, though she’s not sure as to how profitable the unexpected union will be. Still, Arianna will do everything possible to set aside the strife that exists between each race. She knows it’s possible to live in peace. She just has to show everyone the path to achieving just that. With time running short, she dives into a battle that she’s not sure she’ll be able to win. Never-the-less, she’ll give things everything she’s got in the hopes of coming out on top.
A truly unique vampire story, Vampire Elite sets the stage for becoming a classic amongst paranormal stories. Irina Argo has crafted a world surrounding the lore of the Egyptian gods and goddesses. She’s infused the myths with a new twist to each tale, and brought forth a story that will capture the reader’s interest in more ways than one. I confess I was hooked from the moment I started reading. This series is definitely quite promising, and I look forward to what comes next.
