#Review: Symphony of Light and Winter – Renea Mason
Ever since she lay eyes on Cyril, Linden Hill’s life has never been the same. She can’t forget the last night she ever saw him. Nor can she forget about the fact that he’s well and truly gone. Her heart pines for what could have been. Deep inside, she knows they might have had a chance at happiness, which makes his death harder to bear.
Her life is soon turned upside-down when he makes an unexpected return into her life. Linden knows she saw him die so long ago, so how is it that he’s now very much alive? To further make things worse, his mere presence stirs up emotions she thought were long dead and buried. As if that’s not enough, Cyril is determined in wreaking havoc on her life for a supposed slight she can’t explain.
Determined in making sense of the situation, Linden promises herself that she’ll truly get to the bottom of things. Granted, Cyril isn’t quite happy about the fact that’s she not working with him in setting things straight. How can she? The man is too different than the one she knew so long ago.
Other-worldly and surreal, there are so many things about him that she can’t explain. Part of her wants to know what’s going on, but she’s afraid of what the actual truth may yield. Sadly, there’s one thing she never counted upon–her attraction to Cyril, something that keeps getting in the way every time they come into close quarters.
This is a wonderful start to this series. Its premise alone is intriguing, and definitely pulls the reader in. Renea has created a world that is both modern and old at the same time. She’s blended fantasy with the paranormal, adding a touch of intrigue and heavy romance into the mix. I also found the historical elements within the story to be a very unique touch. I kept imagining the characters running around Victorian England even though I know that’s not the case. Kudos on such a refreshing story. Definitely looking forward to more of this series soon enough.

One woman. Seven men. All bound by one man’s undying devotion.
Fundraiser Linden Hill has a knack for reading people. She always knows which conversations will put a prospect at ease, which drink will loosen a patron’s lips—or his wallet, and how cleavage will make a donor sweeten the deal. She’s even foreseen her dateless weekends four hundred and sixty-four times in a row.
But ten years after watching life drain from her former mentor’s and first love’s eyes, her skills for divining the predictable are lost. When Cyril returns, he’s still gorgeous, but this time he’s beyond human, far less dead, and pissed. His lack of memory drives him to desperate acts, and his turbulent re-acquaintance with Linden pulls her into his war with a creature hell-bent on his destruction. His group of six supernatural men share a tantalizing secret, but despite the hunger, it’s love that leads her to sacrifice everything to save him…

Described as Fifty Shades meets The Black Dagger Brotherhood and Twilight. While others say it reminds them of the Night Huntress or Dark Hunter series’. But most agree it’s unlike any paranormal or erotic romance they’ve ever read.
