sweetsolaceA successful writer, Dahlia Dorsey has been doing her best to live her life after losing her husband. Never once did she imagine how much her entire life changes when she and her old friend, Asher, reconnect. She soon realizes just how much she’s missed within the world around her. Determined to make the most of things, she promises herself to keep him at arm’s length. That’s easier said than done, however. Most especially when the chemistry between them sizzles at every turn.

A lovely start to the Seattle Sound series, Sweet Solace immerses the reader in a bittersweet romance between two caring souls. Alexa has injected so much passion and feeling between these two characters that you find yourself wanting more of Asher and Dahlia by the time you get to the end of the book. That’s how good her storytelling is.

There’s an unexpected twist that totally throws you for loop, but it smooths out the turbulence the characters feel by the time you reach it within the story itself. No, I’m not going to tell you what it is, but I do recommend you pick up the book and find out for yourself.

This is a story that gets under your skin and stays there. Each character has a story of their own to tell. Stories that mesh so well that you even find yourself rooting for the underdog. I so can’t wait to see what Alexa has in store for us next within this series. Thanks for an awesome read!

Blurb/Synopsis:
She Knew Him WhenWhen they first met, she was far too young—seventeen, and already in love with the man who would break her heart. Asher Smith was an up-and-coming songwriter, but he knew better than to show his fascination. He wrote a song for Dahlia. And then he moved on. His whiskey-rough voice made him a star, even as fame extracted its price. He Never Forgot HerWhen she sees Asher next, Dahlia Dorsey is the widowed mother of a teenager, a reclusive writer. She’s given up on happy endings—she can’t even script them for her characters. But a moonlit beach and the touch of an old friend turn loose her pain and her desires, whether she’s ready or not.

They’re Risking It All

Dahlia’s career is on the rocks. Asher’s family is falling apart. Neither can chase a passing attraction. But for two souls wounded worse than they can admit, the connection between them is a balm too precious to refuse—and a thrill too exhilarating to resist…
