Summoned BCDimitri has a secret. He’s a Jinn, and he must do everything his Master tells him to do. Good or bad, he must obey, else he suffers the consequences. Deep inside, he wishes that he were anything but what he truly is. He abhors his life, and the fact that he serves a family that doesn’t appreciate who or what he is.

Determined to make the most of the situation, Dimitri promises himself that he’ll find a way to get out the annoying contract that ties him to the Walker family. He’s tired of doing their dirty work. Tired of being demeaned in every way possible. Part of him knows there must be a way to dissolve the ties between them. He just has to figure out how to do it, that’s all.

His life changes when he meets the beautiful and enigmatic Syd. She makes him want to walk away from his sordid life. To let go of the secrets he holds inside. Everything about her draws him to her. She’s goodness personified, and she makes him want to be a better man. Or Jinn, rather. Granted, she has no idea of who and what he is. Nor can he tell her about what he does for a living. Yet that doesn’t change the way he feels about her.

As the situation escalates, and Dimitri finds himself doing things he’s never done before, he soon wonders as to whether he can keep his sordid life a secret. He knows that Syd deserves a proper explanation, but he’s not exactly sure if he could divulge his secrets to her. God knows, his soul is as black as they come. Still, if they’re to have some sort of future together, he knows he’ll need to come clean eventually. The question is how can he do that, when his Master pulls his chains ever closer whenever the fancy takes him?

I’ve got to say that this is an awesome start to this series. At first I thought it would be your ordinary Paranormal story. I’m honestly glad it’s not. Rainy’s unique tale of a Jinn hiding in the plain sight of humans doing unexpected and callous things is certainly mind-boggling. The suspense builds with every step Dimitri takes, and we get to see him feel a range of emotions he’s never felt before. I’m not sure what book two has to bring, but I hope it’s as good as this one!

Twenty-three year old Dimitri has to do what he is told—literally. Controlled by a paranormal bond, he is forced to use his wits to fulfill unlimited deadly wishes made by multimillionaire Karl Walker.

Dimitri has no idea how his family line became trapped in the genie bond. He just knows resisting has never ended well. When he meets Syd—assertive, sexy, intelligent Syd—he becomes determined to make her his own. Except Karl has ensured Dimitri can’t tell anyone about the bond, and Syd isn’t the type to tolerate secrets.

Then Karl starts sending him away on back-to-back wishes. Unable to balance love and lies, Dimitri sets out to uncover Karl’s ultimate plan and put it to an end. But doing so forces him to confront the one wish he never saw coming—the wish that will destroy him.
