Review: Sapphire – Jeffe Kennedy
Taylor Hamilton has always known what she wants, when she wants it. She’s climbed up the corporate ladder in hopes of netting herself the CEO position of the company she works for in the long run. Deep inside, she has a plan. One she hopes to make happen as time goes by. Unfortunately, Adam Kirliss won’t make that so easy for her.
Adam is her partner at work, and is every bit as gorgeous and delectable as women have claimed him to be. Ironically, she never took notice of him until the night their boss spirited the entire company for a little cruise and office party on his yacht. Her boss has decreed that she let loose, and have a little fun. For Taylor, fun doesn’t enter in the equation of her life.
When Adam takes matters into his own hands, and knowingly engages in setting her senses aflame, she soon realizes that she might have gotten more than she bargained for by not playing his game. The man clearly knows how to entice a woman’s desires, a certainty she becomes privy to when they share an intimate moment together. In her mind, however, she refuses to give in to his seduction. Her body, on the other hand, has different ideas.
Drawn to the enigmatic Adam, Taylor can’t deny that he stirs her senses in more ways than one. She wants him with every bone in her body, yet can’t find it within herself to tell him exactly what she wants from him. To her surprise, Adam already knows. He’s more than willing to compromise with her when it comes to matters of the heart. Sadly, the thought of losing control is more than that she ever bargained for.
Titillating, and definitely a very steamy read, Sapphire is a story that will leave you wanting to read more. The settings and descriptions in the book are spot on, and give the reader a vivid picture to the world Jeffe has created for her characters. We’re able to feel their high’s, their low’s, their hunger, and the heady passion that runs through their veins. While this is a quite an easy read, it’s definitely one that’ll incite more than just a reader’s curiosity. Definitely recommend it.
A successful executive, M. Taylor Hamilton is on track with her ten-year plan. Too bad her personal life consists of hitting the gym and grocery shopping. Enter the seductive Adam Kirliss. They may have a working relationship, but everything changes at an office party when he handcuffs her to the rail of a yacht. Taylor writes the adventure off as too much champagne, but when Adam challenges her to a date, she agrees to meet up with him. And follow his rules. They share a night of exquisite intimacy, brimming with both pain and pleasure. But afterwards, fearful of losing her heart, Taylor pulls back emotionally. Adam is determined to prove that she longs for the loss of control he can give her – and the passionate release it provides. How can he make her see that he wants her, and not just her body?
