#Review: Love On The Menu – Ellen March
Jago Tanner is a man who loves the simple things in life. He loves the outdoors and keeps his rugged life close at all times, sometimes preferring to keep to himself. Though he is protective of those he loves, his main focus has been his farm and business. He immerses himself with each task at hand to the fullest, never giving thought to much outside of the life he lives.
Until the moment he meets Riley Smith. It’s then everything changes. She’s beautiful, brazen, and incites his passions in ways no other woman ever has. Though he’s promised himself to keep her at arm’s length, there’s something about her that brings out his protective side. Deep inside, he knows there’s a reason for her sudden appearance at his ranch, though he prefers to not ask her about what he doesn’t know.
It soon becomes apparent that there’s more to Riley than meets the eye. She holds secrets she prefers to not divulge. Jago, however, knows that she’ll have to come clean about everything soon enough. Against his better judgment, he finds himself falling for the beautiful Riley. His mind and heart rebel against the notion, but he can’t help what he begins to feel for her. She’s become his entire world and he’ll do everything to protect her from harm no matter what comes their way.
I absolutely enjoyed this story. The heat and camaraderie between Jago and Riley is certainly palpable. I like the way Ellen kept the action ongoing throughout the story itself. The twists in the story I definitely didn’t see coming, but I’m glad that the two got their happy ending in the end, and a beautiful happy ending it turned out to be. Definitely looking forward to more from Ellen in the future.
Jago Tanner is a loner. He works up a good hunger at his outdoors pursuits centre in Wales and looks upon each female conquest as just another meal. When he’s sated, he doesn’t go back for dessert. Until Riley shows up.
A Londoner hired through an agency to assist him with activities, she isn’t at all what he asked for. For starters, with the name Riley, he expected a man. But Riley is all woman—the sexiest woman Jago has ever laid eyes on. Unfortunately she dresses like a trollop and curses like a sailor. Though ignorant about most outdoors pursuits, she’s a skilled horsewoman, able to calm even his nerviest stallion. And her lively and generous nature enchants his housekeeper Emily and his ancient friend, Tom.
In short, Jago’s new employee is a bundle of contradictions. Which is why, when Jago falls for her, he doesn’t trust his feelings. Riley seems unusually accident prone, and when her brother’s shady friends menace her, she plays the innocent. But how can anyone so self-sufficient and mouthy also be so trusting and naïve? And can a man with Jago’s volatile nature endure the jealousy a woman like Riley provokes just by strolling down the street?
