Review: Lost in France – Jani Kay
Rebecca’s dreams have been shattered. In her mind, there’s nothing else for her to do than to run away from the one place she wants to be in. Granted, her doing so isn’t the best thing to do, but she’s determined in starting over. By leaving the one thing she loves the most behind, she’ll be able to make something of the life and position she’s now been offered. The catch? She’ll need to move to Paris in order to make the most of the situation.
Such a move is a big thing, something her family makes note of at every possible moment. For Rebecca, it’s the answer she’s been waiting for. She’s tired of pining for someone she knows will never be hers. Though Julian shares the same feelings she does, duty binds himself elsewhere. Deep inside, she knows that nipping things in the bud between them is for the best. So why does it hurt so much in doing so?
Rebecca’s attention is soon turned elsewhere when she meets the enigmatic Alain on her flight to Paris. The man is as sexy as they come, and he makes her feel things she never thought possible. It doesn’t matter that the man is a little possessive to boot. He incites her passion and stirs her senses more than any man has ever done.
As her life takes on a different turn, Rebecca soon realizes that sometimes things are too good to be true. Torn by what is right, and the feelings Alain and her boss evoke within her, she finds herself drowning in a dark abyss. Both men are vying for her attention in ways that leave her wondering as to which way is up and which is down. If she’s to succeed in getting to where she needs to be, she’ll need to make certain decisions that will change her life in the long run. The question is, how can she do that when she’s not even sure as to which way to go in the first place?
I absolutely enjoyed Lost In France. Jani Kay tells the story of a woman draw in many directions, unsure of who and what she truly is. Granted, Rebecca wants to believe that she knows herself quite well, but her vulnerability shows in every decision she makes. She loves fast, and falls even faster, never knowing where it is that she’ll end up. While the story does end in a bit of a cliffhanger, I think it sets the stage for what’s to come next for this series. It’s definitely something I’m looking forward to.
Lost in France is an erotic contemporary romance novel set in Paris, the city of Love and Romance.
Lost. The one thing I’ve wanted above everything else was taken from me in one night. My dreams were shattered forever because of one irreversible mistake.
There was nothing I could do about it.
I’d lost everything.
So I did what I always do. I ran.
To another continent.
To start over.
God knows, I needed a new beginning; a new job, a new life.
To find what I truly wanted…needed…craved. A man of my own.
My French man found me. He was perfect.
Or…was he. Alain du Bois had a secret. One that could destroy us before we even had a chance to find love.
And why was my new boss, Maxwell Grant, the arrogant and demanding CEO of Grant Global, fixated on me?
Would I find myself in France?
Would I get what I desperately wanted?
Or was I jumping from one hotter than hell fire into another?
A note from Jani:
This book contains LOTS of sizzling sex. I make no apologies for that.
However, if you are sensitive to copious overt sex scenes and it’s not your thing, I respect that too – hence this warning.
For those that enjoy sensuous steamy sexcapades, Lost in France will not disappoint.
The end will leave you breathless, screaming for book 2. Guaranteed.
Book 2 in The Firebird Trilogy – NO REGRETS – will be released end of January 2014.
Lost In France is Part 1 of 3 in the exciting new Firebird Series.
About The Author:
Jani is a voracious reader and would spend her last dollar on a book – always fascinated that for the mere price of a book, she can escape her world for a while and see through someone else’s eyes.
Besides reading, her favorite ‘thing’ is traveling – she has traveled the world, learning about the ways people live and has come to the realization that no matter where we live, we all ultimately want the same things. Her hobby – Scrapbooking – keeps her up till way after midnight and her usual subjects are her family and her travels.
Ever since she can remember, Jani wanted to write stories about people, about their lives and loves. Relationships and Happiness – arguably the most difficult things to master in life and yet exactly what everyone ultimately desires (in her humble opinion).
