#Review: Kaitlin’s Tale – Christine Amsden
Though Kaitlin Mayer may often refuse to think about the life she’s led, she can’t help but to do so whenever the opportunity arises. She now has a son she needs to take care of. One she’ll do anything to protect. When her life takes an unexpected turn, she soon realizes that not everything is as it seems. To make matters worse, she has no choice but to trust the one man her heart tells her not to–the notorious Matthew Blair. Little does she know, appearances can always be deceiving.
Christine has done it again! Writing another standalone novel that takes place in the same world that surrounds her Cassie Scot series, she pulls the reader in from the moment he/she flips that first page. In this novel, we learn more about Kaitlin’s plight and the secrets that surround her. I love the fact that Christine has wound Kaitlin’s story around the events that previously took place within the lives of the town’s residents, as well as Cassie herself.
While this novel delves deeper into the background that surrounds Kaitlin and Jason, we also get to learn a little more about several others characters along the way. I’m so not spoiling that for you, by the way. If you want to know what I’m talking about, you’ll need to read the book. And you’re going to want to, trust me. If you’ve read the previous books taking place in this wonderful universe, Kaitlin’s Tale will definitely pique your interest.
I honestly love this world Christine has created. I do wonder if she’ll give us more to read about Kaitlin and Matthew, as well as Scott and Madison. It would be awesome to know what they’re up to in the future, as well as what happens next with Alexander. Who knows? Maybe we’ll have more stories to read someday soon. Thank you for an awesome read, Christine!
Kaitlin Mayer is on the run from the father of her baby – a vampire who wants her to join him in deadly eternity. Terrified for her young son, she seeks sanctuary with the hunters guild. Yet they have their own plans for her son, and her hopes of safety are soon shattered.
When she runs into Matthew Blair, an old nemesis with an agenda of his own, she dares to hope for a new escape. But Matthew is a telepath, and Kaitlin’s past is full of dark secrets she never intended to reveal.
