HowlBCTilly never once imagined how much the fight for freedom would change her life. Nor did she ever imagine becoming something more than what she used to be. Despite the fact that the witches and demons have tried to take full control of her life, she’s done her best to live life her way. Things haven’t been easy, but she’s made do, juggling her love for Spencer with what she also feels for Dominic. The pack hasn’t quite accepted the fact that she’s now a part of who and what they are. Nevertheless, they’re willing to protect what they deem theirs by any means necessary.

This series keeps getting better and better with every book. It’s refreshing to see how far the characters have come since the inception of the first book. Howl catapults us into the circumstances that now surround Tilly and the pack. They’ve fought tooth and claw for the world they’ve built around them. There’s no way they’ll surrender to the witch’s demands without a fight.

HG has taken things a step further, fully fleshing out the world she’s built around Tilly, the pack, the witches, and the demons they have at their disposal. While this world is dark, gory, and sometimes grim, she’s given the characters a sliver of hope. Some have come to redeem themselves in ways we never could have imagined.

I love the way Tilly does her best to protect those she loves. She’s gone through so much, yet she doesn’t think about herself. Her mind is focused on what has now become her beloved family. With every turn of the page, we see her fight for what she believes in, often doing what’s necessary to get things done. Mind you, it often gets her in trouble, but she refuses to stand on the sidelines while things go from bad to worse.

I’ve enjoyed this series immensely. From the moment I opened book one, I knew the journey would be out of this world. Tilly’s grown so much from beginning to end. It’s wonderful to see how headstrong she is by the time you get to the end of this book. I don’t think this is the end of this wonderful series. I’d love to see Dominic, Desmond, and a few of the others get their happy endings, too. We can hope, right?

Having left the pack behind, Tilly and Spencer, along with Desmond and his boyfriend, must seek new territory and a new home.

With Halloween fast approaching, the certainty that Arakael would return on the night that the veil between worlds is thinnest looms in all of their minds.

Tilly struggles with her new lycanthropy, and discovers more about herself and her family than she ever wanted to know.

With secrets being revealed and relationships tested, they’re going to have to come together to survive their biggest battle yet.
