#Review: Christmas In Transylvania – Sandra Hill
From the moment Karl Mortensen laid eyes on Faith Larson, he knew his life would never be the same. Faith was a sight to behold, all battered up from the chaos her boyfriend subjected her to. With it being so close to Christmas, he knows he can’t leave her in the conditions she finds herself in. She needs a helping hand, and he will be the one to give it to her.
Taking her back to the castle, Karl never once imagined the flurry of activity that would ensue because of Faith’s unexpected appearance. She’s human and so out of his league. In his mind, he justifies her being there with the fact that she’s hurt. She has nowhere to go, thus he’s determined in being in her guardian vangel–you know, Viking vampire angel.
Things take an unexpected turn when Karl is summoned before Michael and the others. They’re not happy that he’s compromised who and what they are. Though he’s been given a decree, he knows he can’t follow through on it. Faith has become his world, and he’ll do everything to keep her safe. He has to. She’s the one thing he can never do without.
While I’ve begun this series with this first book, I have to say that it was a wonderful and quick read. We’re immersed in the lives of several vangels as they strive to make the best of the coming holiday. Their banter amongst themselves was certainly delightful. I see this series as a parody of all things apocalyptic. Definitely a good read.
For the first time ever the leader of the Viking Vampire Angels, Vikar Sigurdsson, has been talked into celebrating a traditional Christmas! The tree has been decorated, the gifts have been wrapped and the stockings have been hung. And that’s mistletoe, not cobwebs hanging from the ceiling of the creepy castle full of vangels…really!
The icing on the vampire cookie comes when vangel Karl Mortensen rescues Faith Larson, a battered young waitress, from her abusive boyfriend and hides her in the castle amidst the Christmas chaos. But what Karl thought was a frail young teenager is actually a very tempting woman. And she thinks his fangs are sexy!
But a strange “Christmas visitor” at the castle and demon vampires up to their old tricks could threaten the budding romance between Karl and Faith. It’s an impossible match: a human and a vangel, but Christmas is a time for magic.
Karl and Faith don’t stand a chance…
