Review: Beautifully Broken – Sherry Soule
Shiloh Trudell is not your ordinary teenager. She can see spirits and demons, as well as sense the occult. Though she’s not sure as to how she came by her extraordinary powers, she knows there’s a reason for them. Granted, she’s not exactly sure what she should do with them. There’s got to be someone around who can help her with what she needs to know and do. The question is, who?
Determined to understand what makes her who and what she is, Shiloh tries to turn to the one person who can possibly answer her questions – her mother. Sadly, she’s not that forthcoming. That’s ok, though. Deep inside, she knows there are other ways to find out what she’s looking for. She’ll just need to work a little harder in getting to where she needs to be.
As the secrets of her past start to surface, Shiloh soon realizes that there’s a lot she doesn’t know. A good many have been keeping secrets from her, her parents included. Refusing to settle for how things currently are, she dives head-first into the heart of the matter. The town’s sordid past has come up to haunt everyone, something her elders want no part of. While she doesn’t quite know as to what the town’s founders are hiding, she knows their secrets are doing more harm than good. If she’s to succeed in setting all wrongs to right, she’ll need to uncover secrets no one wants her or the rest of the town to know about. To do so, she’ll need to stay alive long enough to shed light on the missing kids and the town’s sordid past.
Beautifully Broken is definitely one of those books that will make you question what you know about the supernatural. Sherry has built as world where the secrets of one’s past can come back to hurt you. Sometimes, things are better left untouched, even when curiosity tends to get the best of you. Will Shiloh be able to truly be able to lay all of her ghosts to rest? You’ll have to read the book to find out what the author has in store for her and the rest of the book’s characters.

Deadly Witchcraft. Ghostly Threats. Doomed Romance.
They say every town has its secrets, but that doesn’t even begin to describe Fallen Oaks. The townsfolk are a superstitious lot and the mystical disappearance of a local teen has everyone murmuring about a centuries old witch’s curse.
When sixteen-year-old Shiloh Trudell takes a summer job at Craven Manor, she discovers a ghost with an agenda. That’s where she meets the new town hottie, Trent Donovan, and immediately becomes enchanted by his charms.
Finally, Shiloh’s met someone who is supercute and totally into her, but Trent is immersed in the cunning deception that surrounds the mysterious Craven Manor. So much so that he may lose sight of what is truly important to him. And she can’t decide whether she wants to shake him or kiss him. Yet neither one of them can deny the immediate, passionate connection growing between them.
With cryptic messages from a pesky wraith, Shiloh will finally begin to understand the mysterious significance of the strange mark branded on her wrist and decide how much she’s willing to sacrifice to protect the other teenagers in town.
Unfortunately, for Shiloh, not all ghosts want help crossing over. Some want vengeance.
