Review: As I Wake – Sarah DiCello
Since learning that she’s been privy to episodes of her past life, Danielle Grayson has had to come terms with everything rather quickly. Granted, she’s not sure as to what to make of the recent revelations. The power to see into the past disturbs her in more ways than one. More so, since the visions prove to open up more cans of worms than openly explain whatever it is she needs to do whenever she slips into her dreams. Never-the-less, she’s determined to try and make sense of what she’s shown.
Part of her is grateful for the fact that she’s not been alone while delving into her dreams. Ben and Eric seem to be a part of her past, though she’s not exactly sure how that has come about. Her dreams begin to take a more vivid turn and she soon starts to question her sanity when she’s involved in a horrific car accident.
Danielle soon starts researching the secrets of her past, secrets she knows won’t be to her liking. She’s not sure as to why she’s been gifted with the power to time travel, but will do anything to make sense of the situation itself. There’s something she’s been missing along the way, yet she can’t quite put her finger on what that is.
In order to fully understand what’s going on, she’ll need to uncover the circumstances that will allow her to do just that. The flashbacks are the key. The question is, can she find the answers before fate comes running around the corner to claim the one thing she loves the most?
While this book is a part of a series, I think the way Sarah continued the storyline makes this book stand all on its own. Full of several unique twists and turns, it’s a story that will keep you guessing till the very. It’ll also make you shed a tear or two. It’s that good!
Readers entranced by As I Close My Eyes will once again be thrust into the enchanting life of Danielle Grayson in As I Wake, the second book in the Breaking Fate collection.
A secret of Dani’s past is revealed and she must find the answers before it’s too late. Can she change the fate of her one true love or will he suffer the same destiny for all of time?
As Dani rekindles her relationship with Ben she finds herself torn between her present day life in Sugar Hill, Georgia and a new past she has yet to discover. But something in her past makes her question the journey she has chosen. Time is running out and she is the only one who can understand the path that must be taken. But will it be enough? Has the story of Dani and Ben been written in stone never to be undone?
