Review: After The Rain – Karen-Anne Stewart
Determined to give Kas everything she’s got, Raina allows herself to feel a peace she never thought she’d feel. Her past is finally behind her, and she can now breathe a tad easier. The thought of not having to look over her shoulder is something she’s truly looking forward to. Her husband has been there for her every step of the way, and she’s grateful for the love and support he’s given her. Granted, things between them are still rocky, but they’ve done their best to overcome the chaos that’s come at them from every direction.
When it becomes apparent that Ghost has no intention of letting Raina go, she and Kas soon realize that their lives will never be easy until they take him down. The fact that she’s become Ghost’s target is daunting at best. Part of her knows that she put herself at risk by helping Kas and the others go after him in the first place. Yet she knows she can’t back down now. Too many lives are at risk, and she refuses to sit on the sidelines while everyone tries to bring Ghost in, once and for all.
As tensions mount, and her life becomes more chaotic, Raina soon wonders if she’ll be able to overcome things once they’re said and done. Deep inside, she knows that the fragile balance that exists between her and Kas is growing thinner by the day. He’s doing everything he can to protect her, and for that she’s grateful. Yet she can’t stand the thought of allowing Ghost and his trafficking ring to continue.
Forced to make decisions against her better judgment, Raina soon finds herself immersed in a battle she’s no longer sure she’ll win. Her adversary has the upper hand, and he’s determined in breaking her at every turn. She refuses to allow him the right to do what he wants. After all, she’s survived a horrid past. Surely, she can survive this too?
A wonderful culmination to a very stirring series, After The Rain is a story that leaves you feeling mind-blown by the time you get to the very end. Raina has overcome so much. For a moment there, she thought she had her happily ever after. Until Ghost decides to turn the tables. It’s then that her world changes completely.
Karen-Anne has crafted a story that dives into difficult topics. Topics that strongly need to be told. By writing this story, she gives us glimpses into a world not that many know about. Human trafficking, abuse, pain, and heartache-these are things many go through on a daily basis. This series is definitely worth reading. One I truly recommend.

Finally able to put her harrowing past to rest, Raina looks forward to her future with Kas, but the Ghost has other plans. As the FBI team gets closer to taking down the largest human trafficking ring in the modern world, the Ghost begins a wicked game, making Raina the pawn and the target. Never before encountering a worthy adversary, he’s fascinated by Raina and is enjoying the refreshing challenge of her intellect.
The danger ignites to a blazing new level, and Kas struggles between the need to finally exorcise the Ghost and his need to protect his wife. Tension mounts as an internal battle wages, tormenting Kas as he watches Raina put her all into taking down the man responsible for horrific sex slavery and gruesome deaths. When a new player takes control, Jefferson orders the end of the Ghost’s game with Raina, which results in one final, devastating act, leaving Kas desperate and willing to do whatever it takes to save her…by whatever means necessary.
