Hello Lissette! Hi everyone. It’s wonderful to be here, at Simplistik. Thank you so much for inviting me.

Before I get to the “Chance” part of my post, let me introduce myself:

I’m, Kay Dee Royal, an author who loves writing and reading paranormal, fantasy, and contemporary erotica romance.

My muse enjoys being taken away by strong, intelligent, confident heroines and rescued by wild, rugged, beastly heroes, both of which harbor shadowy secrets of intrigue and fun. My muse lives for the escape (LOL), imagine that.

Now about Chance?

Allow me to introduce the rugged, beastly story-hero of Staring Into the Eyes of Chance. He’s the Lycan alpha of a notable pack ~ all are operatives in the Lycan International Investigation Agency, also known as LIIA.

So, Chance Grayton, please tell everyone a little about “your” part in SITEOC

CG ~ Okay…Kay Dee and Lissette… first off, I’m not a story hero, I’m simply an alpha doing my job.  *Chance tilts his head as if listening and stares off*

KD ~ Is everything all right?

CG ~ Sorry about that. Don’t know how familiar you all are with Lycan, but we are able to communicate with our pack telepathically. It’s Trevor who’s also an LIIA agent. He just told me there’s news of a rogue we’ve been tracking for months. *a thoughtful expression crosses his face* I have to leave, Kay Dee.

KD ~ Oh, not already…we haven’t talked about Olivia yet.

SITEOC BCCG ~ *his expression softens* I stopped looking for a mate centuries ago, much to my packs dismay. I found out they actually thought I swung to the male side of love, not that I mind it for anyone else. *he chuckles*

While tracking this same elusive rogue, Smoke, I came across a mesmerizing scent, and then saw her face.  I stopped, unable to breathe and remember thinking my heart might pound straight out of my chest.  *he sighs*

I’m driven by this female…Olivia. Yeah, it surprised me, too, as she’s human.

KD ~ So…she’s your primal-mate, right? Even though she’s human?

CG ~ From this, I’ve learned not to question mate-links…they just are. No matter the term used, which for humans I believe it is soul-mate, it seems an inevitable life-link.

KD ~ Chance, is there anything else you can tell us about the first time you met Olivia?

CG ~ Besides the fact I’d killed her? *his brows arch* I’d love it if you all would read it for yourselves…and as far as the part I play, well…I’m still figuring it out in the grand scheme of things.

KD ~ Well, there you have it ~ a hero, who’s also humble *smile* Oh, Chance, just gotta love ya.

We’ll let everyone read a bit about your story in a couple minutes. You sure you have to leave right now?

CG ~ Thanks for inviting me, Kay Dee, but I do need to scoot. I just received more Intel and will have to run. Thank you everyone for popping in…not real sure why Kay Dee chose me for today…it should have been Olivia. She can make friends at the drop of a hat. *chuckles, waves, and dashes out*

KD ~ Guess he was in a hurry (LOL)…so here’s a bit of Chance and Olivia’s story:

Where the hell is it?

Sharp prickles raced up Olivia’s spine as the deepest, longest, eeriest wolf howl she ever heard echoed through the forest. Her body froze and her fingers clung white-knuckled around the tranq rifle. A longer ominous howl answered. It came from the back side of the barn. She took a deep breath, stood up with gun ready, rounded the corner, and ran the length of the barn. Olivia paused for another breath before dashing around to the backside of the structure.

Nothing.

She stepped away from the building, intent on walking her yard perimeter, head pivoting in all directions, scanning the short grass and fallen leaves. Movement to her right alerted her too late as she pivoted toward the motion.

“Oomph!” She took a hit, like a truck slammed into her front side. A flurry of black and silver fur, claws, and teeth. She fell flat on her back, her head bouncing off the ground. The rifle flew from her grasp. No footfalls, no heavy breathing, but a pungent scent of musty dog fur lingered in the air. Olivia lay there, afraid to move, afraid the wolf had just called in his pack.
