Hi, Rebecca. Welcome to my blog. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us.

Would you take a moment and introduce yourself to us?

Hi there. I’m so happy to be here!

As a teenager, I would hide in my room to read my favorite romance novels when I was supposed to be doing my homework. I hope, these days, that my parents think it was worth it.

I am the mother of three adorable boys and I am fortunate to be married to my best friend. We live in northern New Jersey and try not to freeze too badly during the winter months.

I am in love with science fiction, fantasy, and the paranormal and try to use all of these elements in my writing. I’ve been told I’m a little bloodthirsty so I hope that when you read my work you’ll enjoy the action packed ride that always ends in romance. I love to write series because I love to see characters develop over time and it always makes me happy to see my favorite characters make guest appearances in other books.

In my world anything is possible, anything can happen, and you should suspect that it will.

How long have you been writing?

I have been writing my entire life.  I can remember that I wrote a book when I was in first grade. But, my first sale was in 2009. Before that, I had seriously been working on writing a novel for publication for one year.  I started when I was pregnant with my second son. Let’s blame the pregnancy hormones!

Can you tell us a little more about I’ll Be Mated For Christmas?

I’ll Be Mated For Christmas is part of an anthology of Holiday short stories with Decadent Publishing. They all are part of the 1NS series that Decadent publishes.

The premise behind the 1NS series is that there is a dating service owned and run by a mysterious woman named Madame Eve.  She promises you one perfect night.  Inevitably, the one night leads to something bigger, something that has the potential for forever.

They are short stories and they are multi-authored, meaning each story is written by a different author within the confines of the world.  I’ve had one released called One Night With A Wolf and now I’ll Be Mated For Christmas is my second one in the series.

IBMFC BCHow did you come up with the idea for the story?

When I heard about the anthology and that each of us would be doing a different genre of short story, so to speak (meaning I wrote Paranormal and someone else wrote Science Fiction, someone else Contemporary) I asked myself how I could combine both paranormal romance with Christmas and then keep it a short story within Madame Eve’s world.  All together, that became I’ll Be Mated For Christmas.

What type of research did you do for the book?

Actually, I had to do some significant research.  My best friend is a bariatric surgeon.  In this book, Bethany has had the Lap Band surgery and lost a lot of weight.  I needed to know something about what that would be like, what her eating process would be, and what other things she would have undertaken in the two years since she’d had the surgery.

And then, I was really lucky, because I was able to talk about it again with a critique partner who has had the surgery herself. She was so incredible—and for the record I did not know she had the Lap Band until after she read my story and told me—she was able to lend so much depth to Bethany’s emotional struggle that would otherwise have not been there.

You’ve experimented with quite a few writing genres. Of all you’ve written, what’s your favorite genre?

Paranormal. I love Fantasy, Contemporary, and Science Fiction but I always seem to come back to Paranormal.

Do you have a favorite character from this book?

I always love all of my characters but, I have to say, I am so in LOVE with Luke.  Oh my god. He is the perfect hero.  He really, really is.

Do you have any upcoming projects that you can tell us about?

I have written another Westervelt book and I am writing another 1NS story. After that, I hope to write another Young Adult book in my series called The Warrior.

How do you find inspiration when writing?

I’m not sure. I’m very lucky, I seem to have a pretty good muse who keeps me writing. If I’m stuck, sometimes I read.

What, or who, has influenced you the most?

In what sense? So many people have influenced me in so many ways. But in writing, reading Nalini Singh makes me want to be a better writer.

Do you have any recommendations for books that you think the blog’s readers may enjoy?

I would recommend that readers should check out the whole 1NS series.  As I said earlier, it’s a multi-authored series so each book is going to introduce you to a new author that you might not already know.

Are you a plotter or a pantser?

A pantser. The book I just wrote, I had no idea that what happened at the end would happen. It was awesome!

Do you have any tips, or thoughts, that you would like to offer to the blog’s readers?

I would just like to thank them for their support and to wish them a happy holiday season!

Thank you so much for the interview, Rebecca. I hope my reader’s have enjoyed learning more about you. I look forward to more of your work. Best of success always.

Synopsis: Bethany Johnson grew up one of the only humans in a pack of werewolves. She didn’t have an easy time and her self-confidence was almost non-existent.  Finally, after some serious psychotherapy and the help of weight-loss surgery, she is feeling like the Bethany she has always wanted to be.  But now she has to say goodbye to the werewolves in her life.  Out with the old and in with the new this year…

Luke Denarius is the new Alpha of the Delta pack. He’s never met Bethany but the second he scents her he knows she is his. No way is she going off to Italy for adventure and hot sex with other men.

With the help of Madame Eve these two will find that a mating is in the works for Christmas.
